commercial motor vehicle collision investigation level ii (CMVCIC II)  

Course Description:

This highly interactive two day session complements CMVCIC Level I. Practical applications are demonstrated and student teams of two spend time investigating a re-created collision with instructor guidance. The objective is to enable students to demonstrate how to completely investigate a collision.

Course Content:

  • Review of level 1
  • Field Sketch Requirements
  • Collision scene photography
  • Witness interviewing
  • Attendance at a collision scenario for measurements, filed sketch, photography,
  • interviews, etc.
  • Summary of Level II graduation requirements

Within 2 weeks of completing the course, students will submit the following for marking:

  • Field Sketch
  • Scale Drawing
  • Chain of Event Description
  • Speed Calculation
  • Supporting Photographs of the collision scene
  • Statements, police report review
  • Preventable/non-preventable discussion and recommendations

Pre-requisite:

THSAO Commercial Motor Vehicle Collision Investigation Level I

Safety officers, driver trainers, joint health and safety committee members, managers and anyone involved in their company's collision investigation program.
